Nestor Battung

Nestor-BattungNestor V Battung is a Licensed Clinical Massage Therapist with thirteen years of clinical experience. For over 20 years he has been involved in the health and fitness field. He received his basic training from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy April 2000, and Master of Clinical Massage training from the Soma Institute January 2010. He is certified in Orthopedic Massage and Pre- and Post-natal Massage Therapies.

 Nestor is responsible for the successful treatments for clients seeking general relaxation, soft tissue recovery after physical activity, injury treatment and prevention, and chronic pain management, allowing him to practice fundamental techniques while incorporating the more specific modalities he has studied. Nestor is an independent contractor and one of the leading sports massage therapists for the United States Soccer Federation. He also is an approved independent provider for the United States Olympic Committee. He has worked with the U.S. Paralympic Soccer Team, treating those athlete’s that have Cerebral Palsy and recovering from Traumatic Brain Injuries. He is President and CEO of N.V.B. Massage Associates, Inc.

 His experience working with the numerous professional athlete’s which include not only World Class International Soccer players, but several and select Chicago White Sox, Blackhawks players, along with a full season with the 2007 Chicago Cubs, and World Class triathletes. Also, Nestor takes time to treat and work with the local high school athletes. When he’s not traveling he has clinical hours by appointment at a clinic in Westmont, Illinois. He does see many golf enthusiasts at the Black Sheep Golf Club in Sugar Grove on the weekends and members from the Butterfield Country Club.

 Nestor is an American Massage Therapy Association Professional Member and is the 2nd Vice President of the Illinois Chapter. He does find the time to volunteer for the organization. His diverse background in Sports Massage can bring opportunities for the Illinois Community Outreach that he Chairs for the AMTA-IL Chapter. He is the 2010 National Sports Massage Therapist Achiever of the year.

April Neukam

April-NeukamApril Neukam, PT, DPT, OCS is a licensed Physical Therapist who has been practicing in the area of orthopedics and sports medicine since 2007. April graduated in 2004 from Indiana University with a B.S. in Kinesiology. She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2006. While practicing, she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. April has completed a number of continuing education courses since she began practicing to allow her to continually improve and advance her skills. Most notably, in June 2013, she became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.

April enjoys a very active lifestyle, which carries over to her practice. She treats a variety of orthopedic injuries including post-operative, overuse injuries, sports injuries, and acute and chronic pain conditions, among many others while keeping each patient’s individual goals in mind. April has a great interest in running injuries and offers video gait analysis for those wishing to prevent injuries, return to running after injury, or improve overall biomechanics and efficiency. April feels that while physical therapy can be challenging for each patient, by making each individual’s goals a priority it can be enjoyable and even fun working together to achieve these.

Tommy Asuma

Tommy Asuma is a 2003 graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he majored in physical education with an emphasis in athletic training, K-12 professional instruction, and a health education minor.Tommy

He has 12 years of experience as a board certified and state licensed athletic trainer. Tommy’s experience in physical therapy and various athletic environments, have allowed him the opportunity to work with athletes of all ages and abilities, ranging from the middle school to professional level. Tommy is among an elite number of trainers in the world, as a Level 3, Titleist Performance institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and a certified Nike Golf 360 Instructor. His client base ranges in age from 12 to 82 and includes many of Chicago’s best amateurs and junior players, over 30 past and current collegiate players (10+ at the Division I Level), current playing professionals, and players whose handicaps range from +3 to 36.

Tommy’s expertise combines his unique passion for education and golf, with his extensive experience in many different athletic disciplines. His training programs take a medically based approach, that begins with an extensive pre-program evaluation. Each program is individually tailored to the results of your evaluation, to ensure maximum results are achieved, while minimizing the risk of injury by improving your body’s overall function.  He is also Head Athletic Trainer for Catalyst Golf Performance and the Catalyst Long Drive Team. Tommy and his wife Lauren have two boys, Tommi and Matias.
